Our history
Established in 1985, we work with clients in the most demanding operational environments. Our team of specialists are used to working with exotic materials and provide a range of performance enhancing coatings and overlays.
Our in-house grinding capabilities, including grinding and NDT, significantly reduce our lead time, and we operate a LEAN culture, which ensures on-time delivery. We’re proud of our manufacturing process integrity – we can certify and trace all the materials that we use.
We build long-term relationships with our clients and are a trusted supplier to major OEMs in oil and gas, petrochemical, water and other critical industries, where the repair and refurbishment of components can be costly and challenging.

Meet the team
Shaun Newby
Managing Director
Shaun has over 20 years experience in the subsea Oil and Gas sector and has a wealth of knowledge about the sectors we operate in. He has a strong, in-depth understanding of the technically complex products we provide to OEMs around the world and he facilitates a working environment that enables our teams to thrive.
Craig Coomer
Operations Manager
Craig brings over 25 years experience in manufacturing and precision engineering to the team. His knowledge of working with hard to machine exotic materials along with his understanding of our machining and inspection capabilities make Craig ideally placed to lead our operations.
Craig Gunn
Production Engineer
Craig has over 20 years experience working in precision engineering environments. He started his career as an Apprentice Toolmaker, and has a detailed understanding of our operational capabilities. His process engineering skills make sure that we use the most efficient methods of engineering for each order that we take on.
Jordan Lawrence
Sales Manager
Jordan began his career as an Engineering Apprentice here at Al-Met and is a qualified Mechanical Engineer. His exceptional technical knowledge and understanding of our products and capabilities means he can advise customers on the best technical and commercial solutions to meet their needs.
